Best Practices for Virtualizing Exchange Server 2010 with Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V (Doc 1.1)

by Arman Obosyan 3. March 2012 13:41

Many organizations today rely on some degree of virtualization. Whether it is a few virtual machines running on a single physical computer or a whole server farm across multiple root servers, virtualization optimizes investment in hardware and network infrastructure by:

• Increasing the utilization of underused hardware.
• Improving server availability.
• Reducing IT costs.

The purpose of this paper is to provide guidance and best practices for deploying Microsoft® Exchange Server 2010 in a virtualized environment with Windows Server® 2008 R2 Hyper V™ technology. This paper has been carefully composed to be relevant to organizations of any size.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Performance on vSphere 5

by Arman Obosyan 30. August 2011 23:05

This paper examines the performance implications of scaling up an Exchange Server 2010 mailbox server virtual machine in vSphere 5 in comparison to vSphere 4.1 (increasing the number of virtual CPUs in the virtual machine) and scaling out with multiple Exchange Server 2010 virtual machines (increasing the number of virtual machines to the host). This paper includes data showing significant performance improvements of vMotion and Storage vMotion in vSphere 5.

by Arman Obosyan 9. November 2010 23:17

alt Извечный вопрос на который ответ давно очевиден, коротко ответ ДА поддерживается, детали и тонкости смотрим ниже

We've had a number of customers ask us whether or not we support virtualized Exchange Server 2010 deployments. The answer is firmly, YES! We know there are many customers running on under-utilized hardware, and can reduce hardware and maintenance costs by consolidating applications onto a virtualized environment (like the Kentucky Community and Technical College System).
