This document outlines a series of best-practice recommendations for running Lync Server 2010 in a virtualized environment. Virtualization is a powerful technology that enables IT departments to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. Virtualization is increasingly being seen as a way to allocate resources efficiently and consolidate environments. Building on the efforts taken in Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Lync Server 2010 provides a wide range of server virtualization capabilities to reduce total cost of ownership.
